Illustrations that attain the level of perfection normally seen in photographs are known as “hyper-realistic”. Their most common use is seen in science fiction and fantasy books and movies. They are often used to depict project concepts such as new car ideas and product packaging designs, when a scaled model would be too costly to produce.
